Coronado is a quiet and leafy residential area, just 10kms from San José, the capital of Costa Rica, yet also just a short drive from the famous Braulio Carillo Rain Forest Reserve. At a height of 3.500 feet, green and sunny Coronado enjoys year-round daytime temperatures of mainly 21-26 degrees Celsius, almost an ideal climate, much fresher than that of the hot and humid coastal areas.
Our school in Coronado is located in a former coffee finca, surrounded by lush gardens.
The carefully selected host families all live within walking distance from the school. Located in the high central valley of Costa Rica, Coronado is an ideal base from which to explore the capital, the rain forests and the Caribbean and Pacific coastlines of this beautiful country.
